DIY Personalized Christmas Present

Christmas is almost here!! If you're still in need of gifts, check this DIY idea out. It's a personalized "treasure" box. Fill it with trinkets and it's a gift within a gift.
I failed to take proper pictures of this project (ack sorry!) so I will post pictures and links to the things that can be used as well as my final result. This project is super cool because you can tweak it to fit whoever you are giving it to. Think of some things they like (t.v. shows, movies, music, animals, colors, etc) and run with it. There is no way you can mess it up! Plus you made it yourself so they HAVE to love it. Friend code doesn't allow you to throw out handmade gifts ;)

FIRST
You are gonna need a plain box. You can use a wooden treasure chest type thing like this

OR you can use a paper mache box like these

Either work it is all up to personal taste. (both options are under a dollar; no worries friends)
I got my boxes at Joann Fabrics. Any craft store will have them just check the area near the wood projects!

SECOND
This is where it gets exciting. With your decorating plan in mind, pick out some decorations. This is a great time to use up those awful plastic beads. You know the kids' pony beads and funky charms. I'm just gonna list some things that can be used:
  • Letter beads
  • GLITTER. LOTS OF GLITTER.
  • RHINESTONES
  • novelty items like a toy dinosaur or a barbie arm
  • ribbon or trim
  • pipe cleaners
  • pom poms
  • paint or markers
  • images to paste on (online, from magazines, etc.)
  • you're also gonna need glue or modge podge.

FINALLY
Slap everything on and seal with modge podge. (very important step!! It holds everything together and prevents anything from chipping off.)
Once its done you can add little presents like jewelry, a gift card, or maybe a nice note. (I'm stuffing mine with handmade rings and a glitterfied mike wazowski)

(If you were confused "egg pist" is a little inside joke)

Again sorry for the sucky picture quality. I took them on my phone in terrible lighting. It was the best I could do in 2 am lighting!

STICKERS

I have recently discovered a new found love of stickers. Sure I've always loved stickers but up until recently I never actually stuck them anywhere. Not anymore. I have flashbacks to the 90's every time I go on a sticking spree. The world goes black and all I hear are the Spice Girls.

Just in case you wanna join me (in Spice World) here are some super rad stickers I dug up from my favorites on Etsy!

If you like any of these click on the picture and it'll take you right to the shop.

Magical Blah Blah Sticker Pack
I have actually ordered from this shop before and I was really happy with everything!

Creepy Cruisers & Tiny Sticker Packs
(Check our her nail stickers as well they rule.)

Teen Witch Stickers

Grrrl Gang sticker pack

I have ordered from Witchhboy and everything was awesome as well!

Little Fricker Sticker Sticker Gurl
Lastly a little shameless promo for my own Etsy shop ;) Mainly because my sister designed these stickers and I think her art rules.

Looking under the vintage section is also really fun. There is no such thing as too many Lisa Frank stickers.

And just in case you were curious, here are a couple of things I stuck stuff to...

Things I bought recently

First we have some $1 snakes from Target. I have these scattered around my room. They compliment my glow in the dark rats and centipedes nicely ;)

Next are these face wipes from Tjmaxx. I waited to post this just so I could try them out and review them. As far as removing makeup goes these are OK. They work well if you have on light makeup like tinted moisturizer and a powder. Anything too heavy just doesn't come off all the way and it definitely didn't take off waterproof mascara. Still really handy though as I don't wear a full face of makeup too too often.

On the plus side they were super cheap!

More things from tjmaxx. Around $2 each I believe.

Next I found these fun lights at Salvation Army. They were only a buck 79! I was convinced I would get them home and find that they don't work (which I was totally ok with because they look cute none the less) but they work!

More Salvation Army finds...
Sweater #1 is super duper soft (price as shown)
Sweater #2 is a warm wool Gap sweater

I'm most excited about these pants. Look at the leotard feeties! I'm actually gonna cut the legs and re-hem them without the stirrups.

Wee only 2 buckaroos!

If you have a Salvation Army Family Store near you I definitely recommend checking it out. It's one of my favorite places to shop. Also, don't be afraid to shop in ALL the sections. Some of my favorite things came from the men's rack!

Spice Up Your Phone

I decided to put together a set containing all of my favorite phone cases! I will definitely be buying the Bible case soon. It's my absolute favorite. Which one is your favorite?
(I actually own the Rilakkuma one and it's super cute)
Ps.  a lot of cute phone cases can be found for under five bucks on Amazon. AND several of the Urban Outfitters cases in this post are on sale ;)
Phone Accessories

Why would you want a boring protective otterbox (I call them phone crocs o: ) when you can have a giant teddy bear to hug your phone?
